und weil das palast-gelände gesperrt ist (begräbnis der schwester des königs!) gehe ich in den "königlichen zoo"the palace site is closed because of the funeral of the king´s sister ... therefore i´m visiting the "royal zoo"
ich glaube, vögel schwitzen nicht ... zumindest vermitteln sie diesen eindruck!i think birds are not working up a sweat ... at least they´re giving the impression!
dem "schnuckeligen" weißen tiger ist es auf jeden fall zu heiss ... nur nicht bewegen heißt die devise!the cute white tiger feels the heat at any case ... its slogan is "don´t move"!
auch die beiden "putzmamsells" machen mittagspause im schatten der bäume!the cleaning ladies are having their break in the shade of the trees, too!
diese fische ruhen für immer...these fish are having their rest for ever...
... und warten auf ihren verzehr!...and are waiting to be eaten!
auf allen straßen und wegen findest du menschen,...in every street you´re finding people...
...die etwas zu verkaufen haben!...who are selling something!
wenn das alles zum mittagessen ist...if that´s the whole lunch...
mein gästehaus befindet sich in chinatown ... im "maschinen-reparier-viertel" - das muss man gesehen haben!my guesthouse is in chinatown ... inmidst the "machine repairing district" - you have to have seen it!
ich entrinne dem geschäftigen treiben und besuche einen tempel...i´m escaping from the busy street life visiting a temple...
wo mich ein mönch ins buddhistische leben einweiht! die menschen in asien ... und im speziellen die mönche ... sind sooo dünn - ich komm mir vor wie eine tonne!
where a monk is reading me into the buddhistic life!
the people in asia ... and especially the monks ... are sooo slim - i´m feeling like a ton!
am nächsten morgen springe ich auf mein liebstes transportmittel in bangkok - die fähre - und...the next morning i´m hopping on my favorite means of transport - the ferry - and...
...rausche (im wahrsten sinn des wortes!) zur nächsten sehenswürdigkeit ...... rushing (in the truest sense of the word!) to the next point of interest...

auch hier wurde chinesisches porzellan verwendet ... die säulen und wände erinnern auch wirklich an großmutters kaffeehäferl!here they applied chinese porcelain, too - actually the pillars and walls are reminding me on grandma´s coffee cups!
am tempelgelände steht ein riesiger PRANG (KHMER turm)...at the site of the temple there´s a huge PRANG (KHMER tower)...
... 82m hoch ... bis knapp unter die spitze kann man auf "irrwitzig hohen" stufen "in den himmel" klettern ... ja, ja, die erleuchtung muss man sich erarbeiten - man bekommt nichts geschenkt auf dieser welt!82m high ... you can climb up extremely high steps almost to the top of the tower ... "to heaven" ... oh yeah, you have to pay your dues for enlightenment - there´s nothing for free on this earth!
oder doch? dieser grandiose ausblick ist mehr als entschädigung für den mühevollen aufstieg!however, this great view is more than a compensation for my hard ascent!
genug des tempellebens ... ich fahre mit der "skyrail" - bangkoks luftige stadtbahn ...i´ve had enough temple-life ... i´m going by "skyrail" - bangkok´s airy city train ...
...in den modernen bezirk ... to the modern district...
...shopping, shopping ohne ende!...shopping, shopping till you´re dropping!
dann treffe ich mich noch auf ein bier ...then i´m having a beer with ...
...alain, der in bangkok einen job als modedesigner gefunden hat!... alain, who got a job as a fashion designer in bangkok!
ein vorletzter blick auf das nächtliche bangkok ...the last but one view at bangkok by night ...

... bevor ich elendsmüde und verschwitzt unter die dusche verschwinde!...before i´m disappearing exhausted and soaked with sweat, heading to the shower!
