und weil ich schon beim thema kontrastprogramm bin, ein weiteres highlight: palm springs aerial tramway (die tramway ist ja eigentlich eine straßenbahn ... aber wie gesagt: andere länder, anderer sprachgebrauch!) - die längste (ohne zwischenstationen) seilbahn der welt, höhendifferenz 1800 meter, es geht also von 800m auf 2600m! unwahrscheinlich - in kürzester zeit passiert man 5 vegetationszonen, von der mexikanischen wüstenzone bis hin zum alpinen lebensraum!

und weil ich bald in eine völlig andere welt eintauchen werde, nutze ich die chance, heimatlichen gefühlen zu frönen!due to the fact that i´m immersing in an absolutely different world in near future, i´m taking advantage of indulging in my longing for the austrian fall!
ist ja wirklich fast wie daheim!just like my austrian surrounding area!
ja, da gehts ordentlich hinunter (oder hinauf!)that´s an adventurous trip!
während es am berg oben (übrigens: der name des berges: san jacinto!) -2 grad hat (minus!!!) schwitzen die leute in palm springs bei 30 grad!viele haben keinen blassen schimmer und kommen mit ihren shorts und sandalen angerückt ... kann einer passionierten bergwanderin wie mir natürlich nicht passieren!
while the temperature at the montain station (by the way the name of the mountain is san jacinto!) is 29 the people down in palm springs are breaking a sweat at 89!
many tourists don´t have a clue about these conditions and coming up dressed in their shorts and sandals ... of course this won´t happen to me, i´m a passionate hiker!

salton seaist eigentlich ein see, hat aber 50% mehr salzgehalt als der pazifik ... und liegt ca. 60 meter unter dem meeresspiegel

der see ist bei vogelbeobachtern beliebt...the lake is favored by bird watchers....
