hotel leela and backwaters, -1-

ich besuche romana im 5 sterne hotel "LEELA" in kovalam,
romana "genoss" eine 10 tages kur bei gopi!

i´m visiting romana in the 5 star hotel "LEELA" in kovalam, romana "enjoyed" a 10 day treatment at gopi!

na, das ist luxus ... schwimmst im sauberen pool und schaust auf meer hinaus ...

that´s luxury ... swimming in a clean pool looking out to the sea ...


...oder freust dich schon auf ein abendessen im angrenzenden restaurant ...

... or looking forward to having a nice dinner in the nearby restaurant ...




...und obwohl ich mich mit allerhand "zuständen" wie kopfschmerzen, gliederschmerzen, husten, schnupfen, hautausschlägen hierher gekämpft habe, geht es mir angesichts eines frischen badetuches und der herrlichen aussicht gleich um häuser besser!

...and though i arrived with a lot of symptoms like head- and body aches, cough, a cold and a skin rash i´m feeling much better because of the fresh bath towels and the marvellous view!

die schafe grasen im schatten der kokosnusspalmen - hier bin ich in den backwaters von KERALA!

ein kingfisher ... es ist ganz schwierig, diese flinken vögel zu fotografieren!

nachdem es nicht mehr möglich ist, bilder hochzuladen ... verabschiede ich mich für die nächsten 2 wochen ... ich fahre in den sivananda ashram (www.sivananda.org/india) in neyyar dam ... und dort haben sie mit sicherheit keinen internetzugang!

it´s no more possible to upload pictures ... therefore i´m saying good bye for the next two weeks ... i´m going to visit the sivananda ashram (www.sivanada.org/india) in neyyar dam ... and there they don´t have an internet access, that´s for sure!

ich bin begeistert von der hingabe dieser menschen ... hier wird religion noch gelebt - egal ob christentum, islam oder hinduismus!

i´m fascinated by the devotion of these people ... they´re practicing their religion - wether it´s christianity, islam or hinduism!


jörg kauft armreifen für die enkelin von ospangaren...

dürfte nicht ganz so einfach sein, einen ton aus diesem instrument rauszubekommen!

it should be quite difficult to blow this instrument correctly!


die kinder sind sooo hübsch...

ja, so schnell komme ich heute nicht ins bett ... dies ist die tochter von herrn ospangaren mit kinder und ehemann!

yeah, i´m not getting home so soon ... this is mr. ospangaren´s daughter with her children and husband!

kaum eingeschlafen, schon wieder auf ... zum wirklich letzten tempelfest-ereignis! ich habe mich heute auf kerala-style "geschmückt"!

just went to bed and got up again ... preparing for the very last temple festival event! i´m "decorated" in kerala-style!


es ist 8 uhr morgens und hier am strand...

it´s 8 o´clock in the morning and at the beach ...



... finden die vorbereitungen für die weihung des meeres statt ...

the priests are the preparing for the consecration of the sea...

schön langsam beginnt sich der strand zu füllen ...

ja, die "spezial-behandlungen" sind noch nicht beendet ...

... aber was tut man denn nicht alles, um 10 tage jünger auszusehen - oh, entschuldige, 10 jahre meinte ich natürlich!

what wouldn´t one do to look 10 days younger - oh, pardon, of course i meant 10 years younger!



...und ab geht´s in die "apple-kiste" - das ist gopis dampfbad-eigenkreation ...

off we go into the "apple box" - this is gopi´s own creation of a steam bath ...




ja, ja, des einen freud, des andern leid ... ich bin schon kurz vorm kollabieren!

oh yeah, one man´s meat is another man´s poison ... i´m on the verge of collapsing!


während wir geknetet, gegrillt und sonst noch was werden, gönnt sich unser therapist udai ein schäferstündchen ... da stimmt doch irgendwas nicht!

while we are kneaded, grilled and who knows what else our therapist udai is having siesta ... there´s something amiss!

na gut, bei so einem chef darfst dich über nix mehr wundern, hihi!

okay, with such a boss there´s nothing more to be surprised at, hihi!




unser herr aus der schweiz wird doch nicht etwa ...

ich fühle mich für 5 sekunden wohl ... habe gerade geduscht ... ist aber eh sinnlos, weil in der nächsten sekunde rinnt mir der schweiss wieder runter!
