auf meinem weg richtung norden sehe ich ein hinweisschild zu trofsteinhöhlen von CAPRICORN - ich brauch ohnehin eine pause, also schau ich da mal vorbei ... und sehe die schönsten schmetterlinge...on my way heading north i catch sight of a sign showing the CAPRICORN caves - anyway i need a break, therefore i´m stopping by ... and there i´m watching the most beautiful butterflies ...
...und meine absoluten favouriten - ist sie nicht supersüß mit ihrem baby?...and my absolute favorites - isn´t it (she) cute with its (her) baby?
die tropfsteinhöhlen nehmen dir den atem ... aber nicht weil sie so spektakulär sind, sondern weil es hier gewaltig nach fledermaus-kot stinkt! the stalactite caves are breathtaking ... not for being so spectacular but of the extreme stink of the bat excrements!
in diesem riesigen höhlensystem leben die unterschiedlichsten fledermäuse und sie stinken nicht nur, sie machen auch einen ordentlichen lärm! UND: sehr zu meiner "freude" fetzen sie durch die höhle, da sind gute nerven gefragt!!in this huge cave system different bats are living and not only they´re stinking but also they´re making quite a noise! AND: they´re whizzing through the caves, you have to have very good nerves!!
und dieser vogel ist auch nicht ohne: ich befinde mich hier auf einer raststation und eigentlich wollte ich im schatten des baumes eine kleine jause zu mir nehmen...aber anscheinend ist dieser geselle auch hungrig ... und nachdem ich allzu extremen nahkontakt mit vögeln (und anderen fliegenden einheiten!) wenn möglich vermeide, bevorzuge ich meine jause im auto zu mir zu nehmen!this bird is not half bad: i´m staying at a rest stop and actually i wanted to have a snack in the shade of a tree ... but as it seems this bird is hungry, too ... and because i´m trying to avoid a close contact to birds (and other flying objects!) if possible, i prefer eating my snack inside the car!

dieser strand ist in der nähe von arlie beach ... wo ich eigentlich übernachten wollte ... aber es ist schoolies time ... hunderte trinkfreudige maturanten belagern alle populären strandorte der ostküste! na gut, da muss old karin nicht unbedingt bleiben! also fahre ich gut zwanzig kilometer ins landesinnere zurück und übernachte in einem motel, das von elvira, einer sehr netten deutschen lady, geführt wird!this beach is near arlie beach ... where i wanted to stay overnight ... but it´s schoolies time ... hundreds of high school graduents (not averse to the odd drink!) beleaguering all popular beaches of australia´s east coast! okay, old karin is not the one to take part at this happening! therefore i´m driving back to the inland about 20 kilometres, accomodating at a motel, which is run by elvira, a very nice german lady!
und schon wieder neigt sich ein schöner tag dem ende zu!and another wonderful day is tending towards its end!
