ich besuche tom in chiang mai/i visit tom in chiang mai

ich dachte, vielleicht sollte ich nicht ganz so abrupt mit meinen blumenbildern aufhören...

i thought maybe i shouldn´t have an abrupt ending of taking pictures of flowers...

tom und ich besuchen boyd im wat suan dok. boyd ist der assistent von phra saneh, dem "chef" des tempels und der universität, bei dem ich vor 4 jahren ein meditationsseminar gemacht habe. phra saneh ist (wie immer) unterwegs...

tom and i visit boyd at wat suan dok. boyd is the assistant of phra saneh, the "boss" of the temple and the university. i did a meditation retreat at his center 4 years ago. phra saneh is on the way (as usual)...

am nachmittag spaziere ich durch die altstadt von chiang mai und genieße die ruhe im und um die tempel...

in the afternoon i walk through the old part of chiang mai and enjoy the tranquility in and around the temples...

nachdem ich keinen reiseführer mithabe und thai nicht lesen kann, kann ich euch weder sagen, wer dieser herr ist...

this time i don´t have a travel guide with me and i can´t read thai, therefore i neither can tell you who´s this man...

... noch wie dieser tempel heißt!
aber eines weiß ich: es ist wunderschön hier!

... nor i know the name of this temple!
but what i know is: it´s amazing!

und weil ja das christkind schon fast vor der tür steht, gibt es jetzt ein paar weihnachtsdekobilder aus chiang mai!

das fand ich supertoll: auf diesem christbaum sind fotos von waisenkindern angebracht - mit kleinen stiefeln zum füllen, für menschen, die spenden wollen!

this is a great idea: there are pictures of orphans fixed on this christmas tree with little stockings which can be filled by donators!

riesige kugeln aus cds werden am weihnachtsabend für ein funkeln und glitzern sorgen!

huge bowls made of cds will provide a glittering christmas eve!

und damit alles sauber bleibt, stehen besen und schaufel bereit...

habe ich wieder einmal ein lauschiges plätzchen bei einem tempel gefunden!

just found a cosy little place near a temple!

 hier wohnt ein blumenfreund, unverkennbar!

here lives someone who loves flowers, unmistakably!

und damit es auch sauber bleibt, gibt´s besennachschub!

in order that everything stays clean there´s fresh supply of brooms!

also, wenn das nicht gefährlich ist:
1. die leiter ist ein wunderwerk der bastelkunst und wackelt, was das zeug hält. apropos "hält" - ich hätt die "sprissln" schon durchgerissen, wenn ich nur mit einem fuß draufgestiegen wäre!
2. bei dem kabelwirrwarr muss dieser junge mann schon eine gute portion glück haben, dass er das richtige erwischt!

why, if it isn´t dangerous:
1. the ladder is an "engineering marvel", it´s rocking hell for leather. and i´m sure, if i would have tried to step up just with one foot, the ladder would have been broken immediately!
2. due to this hurly-burly of cables this young man has to have good luck finding the right one!
