a perfect day in s.f.

habe am samstag mit clara, eine ausgesprochen nette schulkollegin aus spanien (17 jahre jung!), eine rundwanderung in s.f. gemacht! mit allem, was s.f. ausmacht - gutes essen, die hügel, cabel-cars, die aussichten und die viktorianischen häuser: start beim ferry building - hier befinden sich die besten lebensmittelgeschäfte der ganzen stadt und samstags ist überdies ein obst- und gemüsemarkt, herrlich! nach einer fahrt mit einem gläsernen lift im hyatt regency-hotel geht´s weiter mit den cable-cars die hügel hinauf und hinunter. im lafayette-park genossen wir eines der besten picknicks, das ich je hatte! dann geht es weiter hinunter in die union street, mit traumhaftem ausblick auf die bucht, entlang vieler kurioser geschäfte und restaurants. wir schlendern der küste entlang zum fort mason und weiter zum fisherman´s wharf. nach einer kleiner pause marschieren wir richtung china town und genießen köstliche pasta in little italy!
am abend treffe ich kimi und ihre freundin kim aus korea - wir besuchen den jazz-club "jazz at pearl´s", sensationell! Denise Perrier singt lieder in memoriam Dinah Washington!

on saturday claire (she´s a very nice and smart classmate from spain, just 17!) and i made a walking-tour in s.f.!
with everything included which s.f. is famous for - good food, the hills and cable-cars, the view and the victorian houses:
we started at the ferry building, visited the best food stores of s.f. and the fruit-and veggie-market - delicious! after a ride with the vitreous elevators of the hyatt regency hotel we went up and down california street by cable-car! we stopped at lafayette park to have one of the best picnics i ever had and later on we went down to union street (with amazing views of the bay) along a lot of shops and restaurants. we ambled along the beach, passed fort mason and arrived at fisherman´s wharf - after having a small break we went in direction of china town and ate delicious pasta in a small trattoria in little italy!
at the evening i met kimi and her korean friend kim - we visited a jazz concert at "jazz at pearl´s", it was amazing! Denise Perrier sang songs of Dinah Washington!
