maria und ich starten unsere 2tägige wanderung in der geburtsstadt meiner mutter: KRUMAU in tschechien, seit 1992 unesco weltkulturerbe - ein wunderschönes städtchen an der moldau
mary and i start our 2 days hike at krumau (czech republic), my mother´s native town. krumau belongs to unesco world heritage since 1992 - it is an amazing little town situated on the river moldova.
und direkt an der moldau finden wir ein vegetarisches restaurant und genießen den herrlichen sommertag
and directly besides the river moldova we find a vegeterian restaurant and enjoy this wonderful summer´s day
hermann, mein liebster, hat maria und mich nach krumau gefahren - sehr, sehr nett! nun wird er mit uns abend essen und dann fährt er wieder nach hause.
hermann, my darling, drove mary and me to krumau - which is very, very nice! now he´ll have dinner with us and afterwards he´ll drive back home.

eine gedenkstätte der toten aus ehemaligen deutschsprachigen dörfern der umgebung...
a memorial place for the dead people who once lived in german speaking villages in the surroundings...
wo immer du dich herumblickst, es ist kein menschliches leben erkennbar - keine häuser, keine straßen... doch diese gemähten wiesen zeugen von menschlicher existenz!
wherever you look around, there is no sign of human existence - neither a house, no roades...
but these mown meadows are evidence of human beings in this area!
umgestürzte bäume, blühende wiesen - unberührte natur... das ist LEBEN!
overturned trees, blooming meadows - untouched nature...that´s LIFE!
wollschweine... und irgendwo muss da ein bauernhof versteckt sein!
pigs... and somewhere there must be hidden a farmhouse!
ich liebe wandern - und das wetter passt perfekt!
i love hiking - and we have perfect weather!
und... ich liebe friedhöfe - es sind orte der stille... ein seltenes und kostbares gut in der heutigen zeit!
and... i love cemeteries - places of calmness... a rare and precious asset nowadays!

diese kühe haben ein herrliches leben, hier dürfen sie noch auf der weide gras fressen!

ein entzückendes wochenendhäuschen!
a charming weekend cottage!
endlich angekommen in unserem quartier in frymburk... wir wollen uns duschen, doch es sind keine handtücher da. eine nachbarin bringt uns jeweils ein badetüchlein...
finally we reached our accomodation at frymburk... we want to take a shower but there are no towels to be found. a neighbor brings two very small towels...

am morgen geht es mit der fähre über den see - es ist ziemlich kalt!
in the morning we cross the lake on a ferry boat - it´s pretty cold!

wir sind hier an der europäischen wasserscheide, die flüsse nördlich des bergkamms fließen in die nordsee, die flüsse südlich des bergkamms fließen in das schwarze meer...
we are standing at the european water divide, the rivers north of the crest are flowing into the north sea and the rivers south of the crest flow into the black sea...
wohin das auge blickt - holunder...
